Wish Me Luck

And cross your fingers too. (Smile) I've been working on a non-fiction book for writers to help them, what else, but write. An agent who handles such non-fiction books looked over some of it and asked for the complete. I mailed it out today after spending the last few days getting it polished and ready to go. Now all I can do is wait.

Charlotte-I just found your blog, even though I've been a member of your list for years. After all the work you've put in to help writers I can't imagine your book to be anything but spectacular. Fingers crossed for you. (Tami)

Oh look, spam on a blog.

Hi Tami,

I know what you mean about spam on blogs...and every where else. Isn't it a big pain in the ask-me-no-questions! I get rid of it when it pops up here, but sometimes it takes me a day or two, sometimes only minutes. :-) I had the blog set up where people had to look at that letter box and type in the matching odd letters to post.

That stopped the spam, but it also stopped pepople who can't see and use those reader things. I know one lady who is blind that likes to read my blogs and other writer blogs, and I didn't want her to only be able to read or post if she had someone with her to read the odd letters in that little box so she could post. The 'odd' and box part is what keeps spammers from wasting the time or being able to auto spam...but it can make it hard for others too. There is just no win here.

Sometimes I have to cut the letter box back on though, when certain spam bots find my blog and start hitting it every hour or so. But I try to leave it up only when I have to so everyone who want to read or post a comment here can with ease.

Oh, by the way, Tami. :-) Thanks so much for the crossed fingers and the kind words. I can use all the good luck wishes I can get.

No news yet, but maybe I'll hear something soon. :-)

Hi Candy,

Check out my website. The link for it is on the front page of my blog on the side bar. It's www.charlottedillon.com

The Publishers & Agents page has a lot of info to help, but so does many of the other pages on my site. I've tried to cover everything I thought a new, or even not-so-new, writer might need to know. There are even samples to help you write that first query letter or synopsis.

Best of luck with your own writing!

Candy-Charlotte's website is like GOLD. Her yahoo groups for writers are fantastic as well.
